To overclock the FX6300 well you would need to invest in a better board with superior phase count, this adds extra costs (£90+).
Plus this FX vs i5 debate has may threads on the forum already, its generally considered that if the budget can afford the i5 then you should. If you were comparing a i3 vs FX of a similar price point then the AMD wins.
