Is this a good set up or are there things that could be improved? I'll be getting a gfx card in about 4 months, and have an external dvd/rw so dont need an internal one (never use them!). As you can see from the res, I only have a netbook at the moment so need a PC ASAP!

Or, would it be worth me just ordering the Titan Krypt - looks like a damn good deal!

Cheers for any feedback! ;)

I don't really like those 785G boards with high end CPUs. With the integrated graphics chip and the extra load on the NB compared to a mainstream CPU it's going to get hot. 770 is better, as is 790. The RAM is wierd, i'd get the Patriot Sector 5 II - 1600MHz but CL7. I'd not get a Green drive for main use. Look at Seagate. Fan wise look at the Apache's. Case is a wierd choice, but you've obviously researched it more than me. That's a bit much to spend on the PSU, what's wrong with the 650W BeQuiet for 65 quid? No graphics card?

What's the intended uses and total budget for what?

Pick different ram and a different case that one is ugly maybe an Antec or coolermaster? The Samsung SpinPoint F3 1TB seems to be the flavour of choice lately but I haven't got mine yet!

Superewza - Will be used for general computer use, CS Source and eventually when I upgrade the gfx COD: MW2.

ETNiES - Agree about the RAM but don't agree about the case - I think it's a super case!

coupe69 - Thanks for your time in creating this - I'm sure I saw someone who posted that spec and theres a thread 2 pages back? ;)

I've always looked at the core i5 being inferior so never chose it (i5...i7) but just some quick research, people are chosing i5's more than phenom II 955's, so its pretty tempting now even though you loose the hyperthreading thats on i7's...but the i5's beat i7's in gaming...LOL! Leaning over to the i5 more now! Shame some of the stuff is out of stock =-/

Also, would that PSU be adequate if I decide to get a 5850?

i5's beat i7's in gaming because of the hyperthreading. Games aren't really multi-core sensitive, so they'd only use one or two threads anyway. Having more means its trying to do lots more at the same time, and the CPU cache (L3) gets clogged with memory for 8 threads worth, rather than just 4.

i7 for professional users, i5 for gamers. Phenom II for those that don't have much money to spend, but still want something good. (Like me)
