TBH, with help and a bit of reading, when I bought my first plasma, the choice was clear.

I bought a Panny PWD6! :) , one fantastic screen.

But I went and sold it :(

Now I'd like a smaller, LCD type, screen...and since the market is flooded with models and specs.

I'd like a clear and simple answer to my question, like if we could knock up a top ten or something...

Now if I haven't pee'd you lot off with another 'what' thread, comments are welcome.

Sony Bravia Series very well regarded

S series can be had for £960 at 32" and £1500 for 40" and is every bit as good as the V series

other popular choices at the moment are the Samsung R74 32/26 BDX (BDX is the one with built in freeview) allthough imho its not as good a TV as the sony, and every review in the press seems to agree

other popular choice is the Toshiba WLT66. Very good reviews both on the forums and in the press. But it wont do 1:1 pixel mapping on the VGA/PC input.

Panasonix 60 series is a step down in terms of quality compared to last year, and what TV agreed.

Well a friend of mine who works in high end TV/Audio gear says for the £800 to £1000 price bracket (if that's what you're looking at) then it's got to be the panasonic 32". Doesn't have all the bells and whistles of some of the other models (picture in picture etc) but it more than makes up for it in picture quality and more than one input. Another friend of mine bought one on his recommendation and LOVES it.

If you go to any shops to look at some LCD's displays,Then i said check there viewing angles out..I found the new toshiba 32" LCD's displays were very bad for this...

which one ?

the 60 series has got slatings across the board

on the other hand the 500/52 series was very highly regarded.

The panels may be the same but the electronics and picture processing engine are different, and they're as important to the final image you see as the panel.

Personally I'd recommend a Sony S or V series LCD TV. I have had a 26" S for 5 weeks now and am very happy with it. I'd suggest having a close look at a JVC DX7 as well as that was a close 2nd to the Sony I bought.

the only part they share is the actual screen itself

all of the electronics are different that control the image processing etc..

Have you tryed watching a toshiba 32" LCD from an angle??(All the colours go)

The best LCD i have seen for being able to watch it from an angle was one the new sony 40" ones (I can't remember which model number it was).

This was a very important thing for me for when i was choosing which new TV i wanted...Because i watch a lot of TV from my computer desk which is sited right next to where i wanted to mount the TV on the wall....

i guess the majority of people sit in front of their tv's?

I actually thought the viewing angle of the tosh was great....tried looking at it from the widest angle i'd ever look at it in my lounge and it was great.

hence why i've ordered one!
