Bit of a n00b and I'm confused by the latency rating given for memory, what exactly does it mean? I'm looking at the Corsair memory and see XMS2-6400C3 rated at 3-4-3-9 costing £354.79 and the XMS2-6400C5 rated at 5-5-5-12-T1 only costing £146.82 They both operate and 800MHz so what effect do these timings have on performance and why is there such a price difference? Do these timings only have an effect on overclocking or on general performance as well.
