Please save me some time and give me a quick explanation of what 1333/1600FSB on motherboards mean and we treat it?

Some mobos are now 1600FSB and the new CPUs are also 1600? what if I use a 1333 mobo with a new 1600 cpu?

cheers for the quick help

ps: I do not speak "intel" :p

1600FSB means that the chip runs at 400mhz times its multiplier (just like AMD chips run at 200mhz times their multiplier). Intel quad-pump their FSB figures.

There will be a single 1600FSB quad-core chip when the new Intel chips come out shortly. But the rest will be 1333FSB (333mhz).

The 1600FSB claim on the board just means that its compatible out of the box with the 1600FSB chip. If the board only claims 1333FSB then either a BIOS upgrade, or a bit of manual overclocking will be necessary.

Pretty much.

Tho the 1600mhz chips will be very much in the minority. And most Intel boards can do in excess of a 2000mhz FSB though overclocking anyway.
