Please help :1680x1050 in VISTA, where is it ?

I have a WCS TFT (philips) and a gigabyte 6600 512mg card. Last week i was running Vista in 1680x1050 and it was superb. Then i updated my drivers and i cat get past 1600x1200 and its horrid !

any advice would be swell.

the default drivers in XP / VISTA du not show an option for 1680x1050, once you have your 3rd party graphics force ware drivers in, youl have the option.

if its a 20" and your trying for 1600x1200 it will just revert back to 640x480 as thats beyond the natural state of a 20" LCD

im sorry i dont follow. Are you saying that i should install gigabyte drivers to have this oiption ? I used to have it using the Nvidia RC1 drivers but i cant remember how i got this res.

My tft is a 20.1 inch and its native res is 1680x1050.Is there a way to force it in Rivatuner?

You shouldn't have to do any "forcing" it'll show up providing the drivers are installed correctly.

m8 ive installed and uninstalled lots of times. The option dosent show, my card is capable of it and my TFT, infact im running the proper driver for my TFT now and even in the OSD settings its telling me to run 1680x1050 for best results, its jus this pesky Vista driver, i cant find the option in the :

personalise>display settings, like i say the highest it will go for some reason is 1600x1200 and it wasnt like this last week before i did an update.

this is weird. Is there a program that will allow me to make a customized screen res, cos even the nvidia control panel is differnt in Vista. You dont ahve this option,.

Sorry if I'm speaking to you like a noob but you do know 1600 x 1200 is higher than 1680 x 1050 right?

lol yeah mate i know.. its just not my native screen res and looks horrid on a widescreen tft.

btw mulires didnt work.. its only picking up standard screen res and not the non-standard one i need.
