I've been off the PC gaming scene for a while, in fact a good 8 months or so. I was a huge fan of both games and I'm only getting back into them.

I did a clean install of all games I formatted with Vista approx 4 months ago. In both CSS and TF2 I get the same texture problems. Whenever I face a player textures go all over the place.

Here's an example:

I'd really appreciate it, if you could help a fellow gamer out :)

Looks goosed to me as well - try lowering the X1950 clocks, and if that doesnt work it looks like its time for a new card.

Have you had any problems with other games or just CSS? If it's only CSS i'd try a re-install as well, could be a corrupt Steam folder.

Thanks fellas, it's definitely overheating. My card is at clock speeds. However, I'm currently living inside a box room. So Dual screens, Logitech Z-5500's, Xbox360 and a OC'd pc with central heating on don't go too well!

My CPU now sits at arounds 50-55 idle as opposed to 40! The solution was to remove the case case for gaming opening the window. Dropped my temps by 10-20 degrees on both idle and load!

Arjun, bring it blad!

You could always turn the Central heating off and hope all of that can replace it:p.

I had that problem with my old GT card. It was running too hot, turned out the fan pwr cable had come loose that the cooling fans weren't spinning on the gfx heat sink. Sorted the fan out and the artifacts went away.

Id give the pc a good clean, get some compressed air and fire away at the gpu fan.
The problem is, due to the lack of room, there's extremely bad airflow and it seems like I'll have to make do for another 5 months, so no biggy :)

Haha :D

I would but I think my house mates may complain; there's always the window ;)
