I just recently bought a gaming laptop that I use for gaming and movies at home + uni work on campus. I'm so confused with all the monitor options today and looking for some advice.. Last time I bought a monitor was in 2008 or something and all I would look for was response time, size and price
I'm looking for a 27 inch monitor with a budget of £200-300, preferably closer to the first number..
My laptop:
-CPU:Intel® Core™i7 Quad Core Mobile Processor i7-4710MQ (2.50GHz) 6MB
-Memory (RAM) 16GB KINGSTON SODIMM DDR3 1600MHz (2 x 8GB)
-Graphics Card NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 970M - 6.0GB DDR5 Video RAM - DirectX® 11
-Hard Disk 500GB Samsung 840 EVO SSD, SATA 6Gb/s (upto 540MB/sR | 520MB/sW)
My usage:
-Gaming: BF4, CS, Far Cry + others
-Movies
-Web design, uni work etc..
I have been doing research about monitors and read the stickies. I got convinced that I should get a monitor with an IPS panel, but to make sure that it has a low enough response time for gaming.
I was looking at a monitor I found "AOC i2769Vm Full HD 27" IPS LED Monitor with MHL" as it has an IPS panel, ok response time 5ms and its cheap. But then my friend told me not to get it, because the resolution is only 1080p, which is where I confused..
Then I started reading about 4k monitors, which got me even more confused!
edit. And now I read about PLS monitors.. :O
Please if anyone can suggest some monitors that would be good for my use, I would be very thankful!
