Oh right, ok , shall try that.I cant be greedy though, im way happy with this pc now.Really starting to see where all that money went, lol.I will try it and let you know, thanks again
LOL, and nope my pc wouldnt boot. Looks like in sticking with 2.85 ghz, which is a nice speed. I cant moan, and i defo wouldnt of done it without yourself.I just need to to learn about memory timings, nice thing to know. Ive really thought this memory was crap but its workin and its good. I dont know how u knew what speed my memory was running at though , scary, lol.
It's pretty easy to work out. Your Opty 165 runs at 9x200Mhz at stock (1.8Ghz). And the RAM runs at 200Mhz (400mhz in reality cos it's DDR) at that speed on the 200 (1:1) divider. Once you drop the ram divider to 166 all you have to do to find the RAM speed is divide the fsb by 200 and then multiply by 166 eg:- Your cpu is at 9x316 (2.85Ghz). Divide the 316 by 200, and then multiply by 166. That gives you 262.8Mhz.
Oh right, you make it read easy, lol. But maths was never my strong point. My pc has been on allday now, i have also been playing san andreas online, plays great.Dont seem to have any probs and on idle the temp is 45c now(pc been on for 6 hours).Ive just upgraded my writer too, so now im on ebay looking for a new graphics card.Pc seems stable enough.Msn me sometime so we can have a chat, id love to pick your brains somemore, i find this overclocking really interesting. And im getting more power for my money now, for free. Thanks so much, like i said, i couldnt of done it without the help, patience and advise from you.I really am pleased with the results.Ive read this memory, and i thought it was rubbish.Like i said, ive learned something
