I know a nice older fella who wants this

**No Competitors**

General computing use.
Light gaming.
However, he is showing signs of... interest in more gaming.
He doesnt want to spend much.

Im trying to steer him towards an upgradeable tower of some kind.
The above computer (to my mind) is like buying a car which cannot accept new tyres, nor a new cam belt, etc...

He is adament about sticking with AMD, the low price, and likes the Ryzen processor.
He said I can try and change his mind, that he will listen, but says he wont need more than this build.

What can we suggest which is better, more upgradeable, likely to save him money in the future, which gives him more options down the line, for the same or similar money.

He has his own external storage at monitors at home.
Can anyone find something and explain how it is superior, with the hope of helping him choose a decent machine which will enable a bit of gaming and upgradability in the future?
Thanks for your help fellas.

Wow, at first glance, that is super helpful! I will have a good look the first chance I get.
How do overclockers charge per build, fixed fees?
Id like to be able to pass him a quote for a pre built system.
Thanks for all the effort and time you put into this. Ill come back to it and take another look tomorrow/monday. Thanks Capodecina.

Should check out the new 11400 as its the best bang for buck CPU going right now by a country mile and over twice as fast as a 3200g for just £50 more while only being 10% slower than a 5600X which around £150 more expensive.

While AMD did have good price performance in the past currently they can't compete with Intel in this segment.

Waiting on Damien for a quote.

Chap I know sent me a new email asking for an opinion on a different micro PC...

If anyone can think of any negatives in buying the above, other than the glaringly obvious "not upgradeable" id be grateful to hear opinions.

Still trying to talk him into buying something he can upgrade.

For general usage micro pc are good they use less power dont take up much room . The biggest point for the above pc specced is the upgrade path especially if his gaming needs change, then let him make his choice.

I noted that, power consumption is low.
Cost to replace if there is a problem with the unit counters the potential saving somewhat.
Your point is still good, valid.
