My current server is about 7 years old now and was built on hardware that was low end at the time and as such is now pretty useless.

I'd like to upgrade my server (Unraid) hardware to something that can handle a single 4k transcode and I was thinking the best solution would be an Intel CPU that has IGPU so I can use hardware transcoding without the need for a dedicated GPU. I'd like to keep costs as reasonable possible, i'm not looking for anything overkill.

If anyone could help me pick a CPU along with a suitable motherboard i'd really appreciate it. I dont know if my 8gb DDR3 RAM from my current setup would be good enough, if not then i'll need some suggestions there too.

Thanks

So - not sure what kind of encoding you're doing, but this is the most current gen of Intel CPU, the cheapest mobo I could pair with it and some DDR4 as DDR3 isn't supported in current gen hardware.
