Hello everyone. I hope someone can help with this. I currently have my PS3 connected via HDMI to my 32" Panny TV. Love it. Unfortunately my wife does not! Ever since F1 2010 came out Corrie is but a distant memory for her. I need to move the PS3 through to the back bedroom where my PC resides. My PC monitor only has one analogue & one DVI input. The DVI is used by my PC. Does anyone make a switch bow or something similar which will accept my DVI from my Pc and an HDMI from the PS3? I've looked on OCUK and can't find anything and a certain high street retailer (surprisingly) don't have what I'm looking for either.

Thanks for any help.

Sorry people. Can a mod please deletet this thread? I have just realized that I'd need to figure out something for the audio as my monitor doesn't have speakers and it's 16:10 too, no good for the PS3. I sense the purchase of a 16:9 monitor in the not too distant future, one with speakers built in. Sorry for the inconvenience folks.

You could get a PS3 AV Multi out to VGA cable. These cost ~£20 and will mean you don't need a DVI switch.

As you say, their won't be any speakers on the monitor - but if you have a PC speakers or a headset then these can be used. You will just need a phono (RCA) L/R (female) to 3.5mm stereo (female) cable, this connects the AV multi out cable to your speakers/headset.

May I ask what monitor make and model number you have?

My monitor's a Samsung 226BW? I think that's right. Thing is my PC's a strange beast. I use an M-audio 2496 Audiophile soundcard in ASIO mode with Foobar. The output from there goes to a Rotel amp and thence to my headphones. I like headphones...a lot. The amp does have various other inputs though so your suggestion is a good one. I'm not too keen on VGA though, wouldn't that just look naff? The monitor's capable of 1680 x 1050 native btw. With an eye to Christmas I've been looking at various gadgets and currently I'm considering moving further up the headphone food chain, fixing the power switch on the Rotel as it's dodgy or chucking the Rotel in favour of a Nuforce Icon or maybe a Schiit Valhalla tube amp. Or if I fix this amp maybe investing in some quality small speakers for my desk. On the other hand I'd really like to get a good quality LED or maybe IPS monitor as photography's my main hobby and a bigger, more colour accurate monitor really appeals. The cost of the IPS panels I've seen doesn't appeal though.

I got a HDMI switch, 3 HDMI cables and 2 HDMI to DVI convertors.

Connect one DVI Convertor to the monitor, and one to the PC, then plug the HDMI cables in where needed. One from Output on the Switch to monitor. One from PC to Input and the other from PS3 to Input.

Don't buy cheap though. My first switch fell to bits. I got a Belkin one after that with remote control. Aside from the Remote Control not working, it's very good.

As for Audio. You can use the old scart cable which came with the PS3. Connect this up, then get a Phono to 3.5 mini jack. Plug it into the Line in or Mic port on the PC OR get a 3.5 Male to female convertor and plug your speakers directly into it.
There is a setting in the PS3 to enable sound to come out of that connector rather than/as well as HDMI.

Sorry for the long delay in replying folks. I've decided to go for a new monitor after all. It's time for an upgrade anyway. I'd really like to go for one of those IPS panels if I can find a good 24" one with HDMI for around £300.

Many thanks to all who replied and offered solutions.
