PLEASE HELP CPU AND GPU PROBLEMS

PLEASE HELP ME:o

I recently purchased the almighty msi radeon r9 290 gfx card,
I have noticed differences in some games however in games like dayZ my pc is still incapable of running it in good graphics,
it really struggles with most games, now i understand that this shouldnt be happening with this card so I need someone to tell me why this is happening,
it may be that it is my cpu being old, or it may be that i have not installed something correctly.
Useful Specs
MSi Radeon R9 290 OC edition.
750w ATX power supply
AMD Athlon(tm) II x4 645 3.1GHz
8GB RAM

Id hazard a guess that its the cpu that is the weak link. Whilst i dont play dayZ myself. Ive read that it is a very cpu dependent game. Often causing low performance on some more modern cpu's.
 
Your cpu is absolutely holding you back in DayZ... that game is so insanely cpu dependent it's sad. If you don't have an intel or a highly clocked FX vishera line then you're basically going to have to run that game on some very low settings. If you look at your gpu usage while in game it's often very very low because the cpu just holds it back. Don't blame the gpu.
