Sometime this month I will be buying a new pc and decided to try putting it together myself. In the past I have changed ram and 3D cards but this is my first attempt at a complete home build.

I've got a budget of about £800 and will use the PC mainly for gaming. However I don't know enough about the the hardware to select everthing myself so could some one check the list and give me some advice.

Is this OK?
Is this the correct motherboard for the system, and can it support SLI if I need it in the future?
Is the power supply good enough or should I select a seperate PSU and case, if so which ones?
Could I get a better system for a similar price or would a few pounds more make a lot of differance?
How future proof is this PC?
Is there anything else I should get or know about?

The most demanding game I will be buying is Oblivion could you tell me how well it will run on this PC.

Thanks for any help
Newbie.

Change that mobo,

Get a DS3 instead.(overclocking goodness)

The x1900 series perform better in oblivion and I have two 7900 GTX's running in SLI and I can tell you now the cost is just not worth the tiny performance gain in realterms.

Love my 7900 GTX though ;)

Look at the seagate 7200.10 instead too.

Other than that its a nice system

Would this Graphics card be OK? I'm unsure of the differances between very similar cards and this one seems like the cheapest X1900 XT.

Does the DS3 support crossfire if I need it in the future or is it really not worth bothering with?
