I recently purchased a new desktop PC from overclockers.

AMD Ryzen 5 3600 6-Core Processor
32GB Ram
Prime B450M-A
Gigabyte Geforce GTX 1660 Super

At the time of ordering I purchased an optional wifi antenna to ensure I could get wireless. However since setting up the computer yesterday I have not been able to get a good or steady connection. Initially i thought this was due to the wireless antenna, however I have connected this to my laptop and it works no problem.

On occasions when I have managed to connect to the wireless I have found that the internet speeds have been severely throttled. The laptop returns a speedtest score of 38mbps, the new desktop with the same wireless connection is 1mbps, upload speed is barely registering at all. It makes no difference with a wired connection either, I get a slightly faster download speed of 2mbps, but this is compared to about 45mbps on my laptop.

Any help anyone could provide would be greatly appreciated, otherwise I will be getting back onto Overclockers tomorrow.

Thanks in advance,

ive got a tp link archer t2u v3.

having real issues again today, connection has dropped right off again all the way down to 0.5mbps download and an upload of 1.5mbps. the laptop im posting this from is much better 36mbps download and upload of 8mbps. they are sat on the desk right next to each other. still having issues when plugged in via ethernet too.

ok so now im officially confused lol

i booted the computer in safe mode and connected via an extender with an ethernet cable. i got a download speed of 17.15mbps and an upload of 2.73

going to try the same thing now out of safe mode.

I think ive fixed it!

Used task manager to see what was happening at start up! Disabled windows one drive. Restarted ran a speed test, 22mbps download! What on earth lol.

Thanks to everybody who helped me along the way.
