Please help! I need to drain but how?

Ordered the valve but was in discussion with a few others in another thread and the valve is confusing me with fittings needed etc.

Anyway I managed to drain it, just did as you said and held the waterblock higher then the tubes and cut one at a time catching the coolant in the jug. Of course I removed Motherboard and PSU completely out the case, and shook it plenty to get all coolant out.

The clips funny enough are reusable as you just prize them open again with a knife or something, so did not need to order more but least I will have some spare.

I got Mayhems Ultra Pure H20 5ltr which if I recall won't need changing for 3-4 years so hopefully I won't need to drain it again in that time. Thankfully I bought 5 liters of the stuff and not 1 as I kind of suspected something might go wrong somewhere.

Cheers all for your help today really appreciate :)

So you got your drain port all figured out now?

Nahh :p

I've got replacement tubing coming tomorrow as well as the valve (minus fittings), so just want to get the build completed as soon as possible really.

Maybe some other time I can find the fittings and a use for it but right now its too stressful :D

When I received the valve I can see its really simple and nothing to it.

Too bad I already finished the build, but next time I can fit it im sure :)

Just so you know, unless they have changed the hose clamps since October '13, they are re-usable, for future reference to remove them just grab the bits that you squeeze together to seal it and press one up and the other down (away form each other) and the clip will come undone, IIRC it only works in one direction.

Yeah I found this out, just used scissors to pull them apart.

Cheers for posting though had I not realised :)
