Guys

I am up for renewal on my phone contract soon and I am quite a heavy user so I am sure I will get the offer of the dog danglies phone and some free gifts .

Now what is the difference between an I pod or a good music phone ? It will be used at the gym .

I realy dont want to put I-Tunes on my rigg either .

Ipod isnt the only hard drive MP3 player around... infact its one of many.

Music phones imo are rubbish, its not the music quality, that doesnt really change from any other mp3 player, its just not suited for that use, i have had the K750i and currently own the W900i, you can really tell they arnt suited for music, the socket comes off fairly easily in your pocket, there a funny blip after each song finishes, switching music takes a while compared to normal mp3 players, etc etc.

Im currently awaiting the Microsoft Zune from america, it has a large colour LCD monitor, 30hd which apparently you can store files from PC on to, and wireless capability, but it's much bigger than the ipod. But i was curious of it, so decided to go for it :), other than that, theres the iRiver series or the Creative zens.

I hope this helps,

I'm perfectly happy using my W900i as an mp3 player. I don't get any clicking but I understand what you mean about it coming unplugged, but that really isn't very serious an issue (though I could be an issue down the gym ?).

I use CX300's with my w810i and its ok for occasional use. MP3 player is easier to use for a large collection and on a regular basis. IMO

ive not heard a phone that ive been impressed with. compared to a decent dap, phones like the n95 and w800i are pretty poor. they are great if you just want to load them up with some songs a listen occasionally though:)

It might be because of the Memory card, i store all music on 2gb mem card, I can hear it load the next song, sometimes clicks at the same time.

i use my N95 all the time for music, due to the fact that it's got a 3.5mm jack input, so you don't have the problem of the connector falling out,
also you can use it as a hands free kit in the car if you have a jack input on your head unit...
its awesome, and better than my old muvo v200 1gb it's also loud enough to easily drive a pair of sennhieser hd555
