Please Help Me: Asus EeePC 900HA: Operating System Query

Hi,

I have an Asus EeePC 900HA Netbook with no optical dive I bought a while ago in 2009.

It comes with Windows XP (pre installed) but I never got a CD with it - It doesn't have an optical drive anyway.

What happens if I want to format it and start again with a fresh install? The CD Key serial is on the back of the netbook on a sticker.

Any ideas people because I am miffed!

Slipstream install from a USB key.

You'll need to download the Windows install that matches the product key and install it that way, or get a external USB DVD drive.

What good would an external optical drive be if I don't have the disk?

How would I get the Windows XP install that matches my key, I don't understand :confused:

You could buy Acronis True Image and create an image of your current install on an external drive. I did that and it's worth the money.

It's probably Windows XP Home OEM and Microsoft have a list of their OS images including SHA-1 availabe to the public (do a search for it) so find the SHA-1 for the Windows XP Home OEM image and download it from a torrent or something then test the SHA-1 to ensure it is legit.
