Max budget of £100 pref inc postage..........

Would like 2xusb on the front and headphone socket..........

Internally i would like...

8x 3.5" drive bays as i run raid 10 and i dont like having 4 drives sandwiched together as with the summer coming im thinking ahead.....

I only use 1 cd drive but may use 2 eventually.

shortlist is

Antec P180 which is £80 inc postage! this has 2 x 3.5" caddies

Silverstone TJ05 S-T £100

Coolermaster Stacker STC-T01 Silver £100

Thermaltake VA8003BWS £100

Any others to help me?

I'd personally go for the Silverstone out of that list just for the sheer quality. Thermaltake will dissapoint.

Definately look at Thermaltake, had a Silverstone and sorry to say it was "Pants".... :D

I considered cases for ages like you, bought a P180 & never regretted it. It does take more patience to build because of cable routing and it is important to ensure your PSU has enough cable length to reach everything but it's great quality.
TBH if I had been able to afford a v1000 or 1100 I would have preferred one too as Techmob says but you can't beat the P180 for quality at it's price point in my opinion.

just outside of your budget but i have just ordered the

lian li v1000b plus

might be worth you stretching the extra for that>?
I'd try to stretch to something like this if i were you! You won't regret it and it's resale value (if you ever wanted to upgrade... v2000 ;) ) is, like nearly all Lian Li's, very good indeed! :)

gt

Edit: I've had a P180 and they are nicely built but are quite cramped and may give you issues regarding the 8xhdd's you want to install! Also, are you installing a graphics card? Something like an 8800gtx requires that the P180's upper HDD caddy is removed so you'd only have space for 3 or 4 drives.

Good point, I have a GTX installed without removing the caddy but you wouldn't be able to use the drive slot if you run an 8800GTX.

Just get an eclipse it has the 2 front usb but no headphone but u could always buy a cheap headphone pci slot it has a pci slot on the front of the eclipse.
The eclipse trounces any case below £150 even the v1000.
There's only one choice for a case below the silverstone tj09 and that's the eclipse.
Speaking as someone who's owned a p180 and several lian li.

who said the eclipse trounces the v1000, what proof is there?>

Of course it does the v1000 is a dust magnet with poor cable management due to the psu being at the bottom and bad fan placement it blows warm hdd air over the psu.yea the mozart rocks but is a lot of moola.

i like my mozart tx tbh;) you really dont get much better for cable management and airflow. 10x 120mm fans? dont mind if i do

Blimey that must be noisy, although it does look like a hell of a case for £150!

Whats a "Eclipse"?

What about the Antec Solo? It only holds 4 HDDs but they're widely spaced behind two 92mm fans. It's a little bit tight with a full size mobo but not a major problem.
