Hello all,

I'm in the market for a new monitor I'm toying between the two BenQ EX2780Q or Gigabyte G27QC, both seem to do what I need and thats to play PC and Xbox Series X.

Any advice is welcome.

Thank you.

The benq has an ips panel while the Gigabyte a va panel and is curved, whats the price diffrence ?

About £50 in favour of the Gigabyte.

£ 312.33 Gigabyte
£ 369.99 BenQ

Though the BenQ has £86 off at the moment, down from £455.

IPS is overall the most balanced performing LCD type.
Its weakest point is in contrast/black level, meaning it doesn't produce good looking image in dark room with black looking grey.

VA's strength is the way highest contrast of LCDs giving best black level and hence overall the best looking image when watched in dark environment.
But as rule VA has "challenges" in response times in dark shade/black starting transitions, causing something known as "black smear":

I've always preferred VA panels myself. I'd look at a few before buying, the difference can be quite stark when you're sat right next to it. Benqs are quality though. Even their cheap stuff is good
