Please help me find a free video editor

I have googled for it, and the search gave me quite a few results. I was hoping that someone can point me to the right direction. I am after a free video editing software which will help me alter things like camera orientation (portrait to landscape and vice versa) as I have quite a few videos that were taken with the camera tilted. I want to correct this, so any help is gratefully anticipated!

For some reason it cannot work with my 3gp files. It says it lacks the codecs. Which I know is not true as the video plays in Windows media player and I have the K-Lite mega codec pack installed...

Any other suggestions?

Maybe try "Any Video Convertor" to convert the 3gp files to something Windows Live Movie Maker can read?

I've just converted a 300mb WMV to a 30mb avi file with it and it doesn't take too long. Only thing I can suggest.

How about just using the trial version of adobe premier for a one off production? think the trial is a month or so

Tried avidemux? Basic but does what you want.
