I am not a big gamer but I fancy a game to play occasionally.
It has to be SciFi based, space ships, vehicles , possibly blowing things up and shooting at stuff.
I will get bored very quickly if it is long winded but will also get fed up if its too complicated..

Now the punch line, my PC specs are,

Dell Inspiron 3847

Intel (r) Core (tm) i3 4130 CPU @ 3.40 GHz
8 GB ram
64 bit OS x64 based processor, windows 10 home.

I think > Intel HD Graphics 4400

So, a bit pants but its all I've got.

Any ideas?

Look up Earth and Beyond Emulator, an old game yep but a classic (One that EA destroyed) as it also has a great online community. Failing that Freelancer is always good for a blast.

If you want adrenaline rushes and smugness (or possibly mouse smashing rage fits) then Eve online would be a good call, especially with the soon to be Alpha Clone (Ftp) which will bring a rush of new players to the game.

Also worth considering Mass Effect maybe?
If you are happy to go classic something like Tie Fighter (though a joystick is a must for that one).

Would need more than onboard graphics for Eve?

Possibly one of the older X games (X2 The Threat or X3), but what's going to work under Win10 probably isn't going to like the Intel GPU.

Didn't know there was an E&B emulator running :o

I was co-founder of one of the biggest guilds in that game (before leaving well early to play star wars galaxies :p ). I had about 6 copies of the game sent to me by EA like I could just give them to the other guild members in other countries... :p

Well look it up, still going strong after all these years, google enb emulator and relive those childhood memories..

The learning arcs in X games are more like learning vertical cliffs. You need to invest a lot of time learning the mechanics of the game and how to control and operate everything and once you've done that you have learn who to progress and earn money. Fun games once who get to grips with it but it's not easy for noobs.
