I'm trying to remember the name of an old PS2 game that was basically an open world driving game, but involved checkpoint racing too. I remember three basic worlds, one was like a Canadian countryside map in the summer, and there was also a version of it in the winter, with the lake frozen over etc. The third map was set in the Californian desert.
You had the choice to free roam the maps, or you could do races, I remember the races were like between certain checkpoints etc and you were able to drive cars, trucks etc.
The most appealing feature about it was the open world exploring and it captivated me for hours, but I can't remember its damned name!
Please help! I've Googled everything I can think of!
I'm also pretty sure it had a sequel too, but I never got it.
