Please help me reduce my numbers ofr Processes in task manager

I have been always wanting to reduce all the processes in my task manager as from start up it got 48 and i believe a lot of you get half of it. But I aint a clue how to stop them from loading up and what not needed but all of them are never using the cpu at all which confuse me so if they not using a cpu it wont make much different will it?
 
48..thats a lot! I have 8! Once you sort that out your computer will boot at warp-speed and you will find it much faster in daily use!

Download this free software called Starter:

It will show you all the programs that will start when you turn on your PC. You prevent them from starting by unticking the boxes.

Do NOT delete anything from the list...yet. Just untick the boxes of programs that are not important to startup. Its important to remember this because if something goes funny you can just go back and select that box again.

Generally its safe to disable everything except Windows stuff, anti-spyware, anti-virus etc :)

However its up to you to carefully examine what to disable. If it looks important just leave it alone hee hee.

For example Yahoo Messenger, Real Player, Quicktime etc have a HORRIBLE habit of auto-starting :mad:
