Evening all,

Just bought this laptop off the MM but i'm having major issues finding drivers and getting it sorted out.

The specs:

Processor - Intel Pentium Dual Core T5450 1.66 GHz Dual-Core
RAM - 2 GB (installed) 2 GB (max) - DDR II SDRAM
Hard Drive - 120 GB
Operating System - Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium
Screen - 15.4 in TFT active matrix 1280 x 800
Optical Drive - DVD±RW (+R double layer) / DVD-RAM
Graphics - ATI Radeon Xpress 1100

Because I only have a copy of Windows 7 x64 i've had to install my old copy of Windows XP Professional x32.

I'm trying to install the graphic drivers so i've downloaded the ATi 10.2 Xpress 1100 driver but it doesn't want to install, it just says:

Setup did not find a driver compatible with your current hardware or operating system.
Setup will now exit.

So i'm stuck with a horrid 1024 x 768 resolution when the native is 1280 x 800.

I also for the life of me can't find the audio driver as i've got no idea on what the sound card is in this laptop. Spent about 2 hours yesterday on Google trying to sort it out but i've had no luck what so ever, i'm assuming it's because this laptop is old.

Would appreciate it if anyone could help me out so I can sort this and start using it.

thanks.

Mate you're a star for finsing that page. I looked all over the ASUS website and put my model in but it said 'Not in database'.

Will try these out tomorrow and again, thank you!

Installed Windows 7 and all is well so far! Didn't have to install a sounds driver, just the display driver. One weird thing is that the driver I download from the ASUS support website and it works fine though when I drag windows about is seems a tiny bit choppy. I went onto the drivers from ATi and downloaded the XPress 1100 drivers for Vista x32 but when I install them no display driver shows up so all i'm installing is Microsoft C and Catalyst Install Manager. Any idea as to why this is happening? Note that the drivers off ASUS support are also for Vista x32 but work on Windows 7.
