hi everyone I have posted several times on OC forums and really appreciate the replies that I have had for different questions that I have asked. anyway I'm a big fan of samsung phones & watches so because I can't have the latest version of the galaxy watch(reasons are documented on here) so I have been looking at google phone and watch and basically I'll only be using the phone and watch for everyday use. I'm not into this technical stuff so I don't need all the gadgets so long as it connects to my car using AA wireless dongle with android autos then I'll be happy SO please is it samsung or Google thank you very much much for reading my post and any advice

Your post history is a tad long to search through so you're better off stating it here so it helps us help you.

It depends on budget. The Pixel 2 watch is also rather expensive, more than the cheapest Galaxy Watch6 model.

I haven't had any issues with my 6 Pro with Android Auto, but the car only had wired, so haven't tested what wireless is like.

Thanks very much. I've just got back from a retailer and at first, they weren't very keen on helping me. IE: they couldn't be bothered to show me and let me try out the google watch to see if it will work with my tattoos so I left (they lost out on a sale because I would have bought google watch, phone pixel and a google tablet

Buy it from Google direct. They have a good returns policy.

Although a bit off-topic, I highly recommend you going sim-only if you haven't already done so. I'm on Three, unlimited calls/texts and 25GB data for £8 a month, bound for 1 year. I don't have a landline, so £8 is all I pay for comms. So it helps keep running costs low and lets me the money on a higher up Samsung model.

Back to Samsung, using Samsung direct is also an option. Depending on what Samsung you currently got, they might offer trade-in. They deliver your new phone first and you get a 2-week window to copy everything across using Samsung Smart Switch (contacts, apps, images, music etc), wipe your old phone and then have it ready for shipping from a Post Office. Samsung's welcome pack also include the packaging that you need for shipping and the 2-week window begins from the delivery date (from DPD's tracking) rather than the earlier invoice or shipping date. Also, depending on timing, there are other discounts as well such as cashback, which crop up from time to time in the Samsung threads on this forum. Staff discount as well for some workplaces.

Edit: there is also PayPal credit which I have used on Samsung phones with 0% which splits the cost over 3 or 4 months.

I'm assuming you mean the Watch 6 Classic? What's the reason why you can't use it? Is the cheaper Watch6 not an option?

Ah whoops, I missed that out, cheers.

In that case I think the Pixel Watch 2 suffers from the same problem too after doing a quick search.
I think you are right.... I know of friends that have the pro 6 and have tattoos and it works fine for them ... I had my tattoos done 40 years ago and what samsung have said is that they are to dark

Sorry I missed the bit about tattoos. It was only because it didn't seem relevant to me when I was writing out my reply.

Is it because if a tattoo covers the wrist, the area where the watch goes, does the pigment interfere with the heart rate light? When I take off my Samsung Galaxy Watch 4, it flashes a green light rapidly for a few seconds then it turns off. This must be to do with the heart rate and the green light reflects off the skin with a sensor of some sort to monitor the light pattern?

yes don't get me wrong but it works for Notifications etcetera But not the health side of the watch like you said, heart and ECG. Because you have to calibrate it on your wrist. And that is where my tattoo is, and it won't penetrate the tattoo. The censors wrote. Hope that makes sense.
