Please help me with a pc for editing 4k video for £1500

Is it overkill or just enough? Any tweaks needed have I missed something ? I really have no idea I've just been googling all night to work it out... I know I also need large amounts of ram but there seems to be loads of variety.
Anyway I ended up here the builds seem much better value than the currys site!
Hoping someone that knows about this stuff could help me out.
I have a budget of £1500 (including monitor which I havnt looked at yet but I have an old one I can use for now) I want something that will last a few years and can manage all office type tasks and video editing(go pro 4k), streaming and programming. many thanks in advance

You are generally in the correct area with your thinking and choices. The PC you have put together will be good enough for all office tasks for the next decade if not beyond. For video editing it depends on what particular programmes you use , some work better with Intel and some just want more cores. The cpu you have picked will be very good but would not be the ideal choice for a semi professional workstation build that is running full core loads for many hours a day, I assume that is not your use case so it will be an excellent office PC and good for light video editing.

Cases- the case you have selected seems to have limited airflow at the front. Would recommend Corsair 4000D or Phanteks P400 Air. If you notice they both have a mesh front and fans placed there to give good airflow. That is pretty much the idiot proof way to ensure you do not cook your internal components.

Mobo - It does not specify what particular B550 mobo it is. I personally would want to know what I was getting before I order.

PSU - It again does not specify what PSU it is so it will most likely be a Kolink 600w. I would personally prefer a better brand such as Corsair/Seasonic/MSi/Phanteks/BeQuiet just for the peace of mind. If you ring up OCUK they will normally instal whatever PSU you actually want , it is only a small change.

Storage - Get more such as a 1tb M.2 NVME and not the 500gb and also think about the 2tb SATA SSD.


I have checked the OCUK configurators to try and spec up an equivalent Intel build but could not get close to the AMD builds price so it does seem very good value

Thankyou very much for your response. it was helpful. I am mostly just editing footage from gopros in 4k as a weekly task, not a daily task it is filmora wondershare editing software. I am hoping only to purchase one PC for the next decade so if this is suitably upgradeable and beyond what i currently need that is perfect. re. your concern on mobo I wouldn't know the difference personally anyway and id needs an extra day to research motherboards... I'm hoping to buy this today with the current sale on. Thanks for your help!

If I was buying that PC I would certainly be getting a better PSU. There is not a great choice for lower power PSUs on OCUK in stock at moment but If I had to pick one I would get the below. Will cost a little more but worth it for peace of mind imho.

If you are ringing them up to change the PSU you may as well ask what motherboard it will have but it will be cheap and utilitarian. You will have the ocuk warranty for any problems.

Upgradeability. You will be able to add a lot more storage to the PC but the AM4 platform has reached its end point so not many upgrade paths. If you want an upgradeable PC then the AM5 platform is very new and will be supported until 2025 with new CPUs but that will blow your budget.

The Corsair case is on pre order so not in stock, ask when it is likely to be in or choose a different one. I was using it as an example to help explain airflow and not as an absolute choice.
