Please help me with my gaming spec £700-£800

Hi,

I am looking to buy me a tower, i dont need monitor (use samsung 32" LCD tv), keyboard, speakers or mouse.

I will also need to get microsoft windows xp

Can anyone here help me spec up a system for around the £700-800 mark. The system will be used primarily for playing the most up to date games. I am hoping for the money i am willing to spend to get a nice conroe chip in there.

Oh, as an aside what do you guys think is the best value for money pre-built system that overclockers do.

Hi, I am looking to buy me a tower minus the memory as i already have "GeIL 2GB (2x1GB) PC3200 Value Dual Channel Kit CAS3 (GE2GB3200BDC) (MY-046-GL)"

Your gonna need DDR2 Memory for conroe/AM2. That memory will work with 939, 478, and some 775 systems.

thanks for the help, u reckon that spec would last a couple of years maybe?

I'm putting together something similar (on paper) at the moment.

That's my plan - have something that lasts about 3 years, maybe with a little bit of an upgrade to the graphics card after 18months.

any other opinions, i am gonna be ordering at the latest tomorrow afternoon.

The specification is good. However I do have a question about your proposed monitor, what sort of resolution does it support? The reason I ask is most TVs have a low resolution, much worse than even the cheapest monitors and you may find it uncomfortable very quickly.

The tv goes up to 1366 x 768, but i've also got a Samsung SM-920N 19" LCD Monitor as well which goes to 1280 x 1024 that i can use if the tv is uncomfortable.
