Hi guys and dolls.
I am looking to upgrade/build a new pc.
my current rig is getting pretty old and the only things that are salvagable from it are the gtx650 and a corsair 500w psu.

would really love to get this in a bitfenix prodigy.

I was thinking of getting...

i5 4670
Gigabyte H87N-WIFI Motherboard.
WD 1tb cav blue.
8gb ram
windows 8 (as im running vista!)

I was wondering if this was the wisest way to spend my budget(£600), buy this then save up for a better gpu or would it be more beneficial to go down another route? looking for suggestions.

Looking to game on it mostly, bioshock infinate, wow, fps ect.

Thank you in advance for taking time out of your day to help a noob like me.

Merry christmas.

Ok.

Going with the amd build.
I hear a lot about cpu temps with the 8320. what aftermarket cooler would you guys recommend?

around the £30 mark.

anything else i should add?

really looking forward to building my first pc!

not sure if it will fit the case but it will fit the mobo and you will be able to use all slots with that low profile ram specced above in the amd build if you decide to buy another 2 sticks, most likely you will be using slot 2 and 4 for dual channel

Cant seem to find any other builds using a prodigy M and the Alpenföhn Matterhorn Pure Edition CPU Cooler. any other suggestions that will 100% fit and keep the cpu cool?

Bitfenix has completely retooled the inside of the chassis to accommodate both micro-ATX and mini-ITX motherboards, while also making room for graphics cards up to 320mm in length. There's still room for a full ATX power supply, a single 5.25-inch drive, and users are able to fit CPU coolers up to 180mm in height. In case water cooling is your thing, Bitfenix says that there is space for a 240mm radiator with a maximum thickness of 27mm.
