Hi,

I'm really looking for help on this one, I had a stable overclock with 6gb memory, I now have 24gb ( I kept running out,.. I use a lot of VMs etc ).

Stuff:

- Intel i7 920 ( 2.66Ghz stock )
- 1600Mhz DDR3 Triple Channel Vengeance stock 1.5v 9-9-9-24
- Msi X58M motherboard.
- Corsair H-50 cooling

I did have my OC at 3.8Ghz before the upgrade, if I can come close to this I am happy.

==========================

So, here is what I have tried.
1) Try old overclock, adjust timings and memory ratio to make 1800Mhz, failed to boot.
2) Try stock, change memory ratio to 7 to make 1800Mhz, up DRAM voltage to 1.65, failed to boot.
3) Tried stock, set DRAM voltage to 1.65, booted fine ( as expected, this works on 1.5v too ).

So,.. My plan was to OC the memory first, then work on my CPU, but I don't think this will work. It seems anything I change with BCLK, or memory multiplier causes it to fail boot.

My ratio is 20 at the moment, I have disabled EIST and turbo boost.

Is there anything you would suggest, do I need to play with some other voltages?

I think I would like to aim at memory to 1800Mhz and Processor near 3.2Ghz to start, any advice?

Thanks!!!

I managed to get my CPU back to 3.8Ghz, but had to move the memory ratio down to 4 to keep it at 1600Mhz, seems if I go anything over the stock 1600Mhz, It won't boot.
