I turned on my PC this morning just to check emails and stuff before work and oh dear :( , a message asking me to select correct boot device or insert boot media, a quick look in the BIOS and it would appear my HDD has disapeared!
Only my DVD/RW is listed?

Any help/advice much appreciated.

PC spec as in sig.

If you have a RAID set up ensure that its configured as RAID and hasnt reverted to IDE

This is a possibility, i only have the 1 HDD and it normally says RAID on boot up, but in the BIOS it was referring to IDE?
How do i configuire it back to RAID?

Thanks for the reply's.

If you're unsure whether or not you are using raid, you aren't using it.
If you only have one hard drive, you are even less likely to be using raid.

Which operating system? You can try ide/ahci in the bios and one may boot. This is unlikely to be the answer, as windows bluescreens when you try to boot after changing this setting.

+1 to check the cables are connected properly

Tried a diff cable, even swapped SATA lead and power connector from my DVD which i know are fine, swapped port on MOBO still no HDD detected, HDD died?

Just taken the HDD out of the case and held it whilst starting PC the HDD is spinning up, unfortunatley i don't have another SATA machine to try it in?
