Please help. Mouse and res problems on call of duty 1

Hi all,

I thought i would treat myself to the original COD and COD:UO but when i get to the main menu the mouse is stuck in the top left of the screen. Also the screen is half off of my monitor so i cant play any way.

Im on vista 64 and i got them from steam.

It's really annoying and i cant find anything on the net to help.

At least you can get that far........

All i get with Win7 64bit is a 'buffer overflow error' when trying to start the game......

Really miss COD Multiplayer as well..

It's really frustrating. I cant find anything on the net at all to help so it looks like ive just wasted my money rebuying it

What Gfx card are you using....?

I'm running an ATI 4850, and i know for a fact when i had Vista64 installed last year, i was able to play without any problems...

I suspect that updates to the ATI drivers are causing the problems, rather than the OS......

Im running a 4870. Might try changing drivers and seeing if that makes a difference. I dont see how that could affect the mouse though.

Have you tried running it in safe mode?....

In my experience, problems with the mouse are normally to do with refresh rates ....

I did try that but because it's a steam game it wont give me the option to change the compatability unless im doing something wrong. Really frustrating
