Hi

Been recently fiddling around with OCing my PII X3 720 and had it upto 3.4ghz on 50mV over stock stable (1.4v) however I cannot seem to get it stable on 3.6 (18xmulti upped only). I have gone upto 1.5v with no improvmenet Prime95 kicks me out in less than a minute (BSOD).

I have played about with my NB Frequency going from 2000 to 2400 to 2600 multiplier only. This sometimes caused problems posting (still seems to hang occasionally on boot but pretty random. I've put my NB upto 1.375v.

Tried changing my HT Link Freq from 2000 to 1800 to 2600. 2600 seems to cause problems in booting. At 1800 I can get into windows and Prime runs but throws out a fatal error on core 3 in about a minute but the other cores keep running.

What should I be trying. I'm not very experienced at this so playing with the NB freq/volts and HT Link Freq are a new to me just going off what I've read. Changing the NB/HT Link seems to have caused my biggest instabilities, no post etc but it's a bit guess work for me here. I'm looking to get 3.6 under a decent voltage so I can run at it 24/7 but it's looking unlikely atm. Just failing under stress.

Can anyone offer me advice on getting it stable w/o putting my vCore through the roof? Runs about 46oC under full load at 1.5v.

Am I looking to keep my multi at max 17 and play with my FSB or should I be making better changes to my NB.

Thanks for any advice :)

Hmm, no one seems to know, maybe I'm stuck at 3.4mhz and just have to put up with it.

Also some other voltages but not really sure what they apply to. Confuesed as I seem to have 2 northbridge voltages NB Core Voltage and CPU NB Voltage.

DRAM 1.68v
NB Core Voltage 1.25v
NB HT 1.27
