I received my new card today, uninstalled all the drivers for my radeon, unplugged everything. I put the new card in and I get a message : please select boot device or boot media device! I resorted to taking out the CMOS battery and going to put it in in few minutes to see if it worked :(

Yes my ssd which windows is on is priority boot device, I even tried a force boot from the bios but I'm getting the same problem. I'm waiting another few minutes and CMOS is going back in.

If I perform a clean boot wouldn't that erase all of my files??? I don't really want to loose everything, at the end of the day I'm only swapping out a gpu...

you can install windows on top of windows, the options always been there :)

just google installing windows on top of windows

it installs on top, just dont format "anything" and hit install on c drive, it will prompt you its found a existing windows and would u like to move those folders to windows old folder just hit yes, all your data will be in there (usualy the my docs or User folder)

but google it 1st and read up ;)

It looks like you some how, deleted the boot img for the drive. A new install will bring it back. You can install over windows but you then have two installs, am not sure if you can delete windows old has I never had it. Or you can back up data and do a fresh install witch is recommended anyway when switching from amd to nvidia and or nvidia to amd.

My SSD does this sometimes and generally its because it gets confused with my storage drive, so I just unplug my storage drive and go into bios and its back in there, as its ACHI I can then boot into windows, hotswap my storage drive back in and problem sorted.

Also on my board the SATA ports are right next to the rear of the graphics card so make sure you havent disrupted the plugs when fitting your card

I can't even get into bios now. I replaced CMOS now, I get a single beep when I boot up everything spins but now I don't even get signal fron the in and out mobo backplate or both cards....fml

No everything is in place like I said... Just got off the phone with over lockers and they hang up on me... Very unprofessional service

I have an 850w psu, I tried both of the cards, even used the in and out port on the back of the mobo itself I'm getting no signal on both of my tv and monitor...that's started happening after I took the CMOS out

If you just got off the phone the normal protocal is to hang up surely :p

Sorry ;)..... go have a cup of tea and come back to it, it usually helps
Make sure you havent swapped your HHD and SSD cables around, this could cause your boot issue

Also make sure you unplug the mains from the PSU for a couple of minutes so the green led goes out and try it again

There are switches epu and tpu, nothing else.... How could I damage the bios by removing a gpu and putting a new one in???? I'm sorry it's either me or my lack of pc knowledge but I'm not finding anything usefull
