Hey. Sorry if this is in the wrong section, I couldn't find a help section?
I've just built up a new comp. Everything is brand new apart from my old ide hard drive, my old ide dvd/rw and a x1900xt gfx card I bought 2nd hand. The spec is e2140, Foxconn mobo, 2Gb ocz ram, coolermaster case and 460w psu, and thats about it really. Just a budget gaming rig.

Basically I put it all together, and it starts up fine, the bios works, and I can get into windows. A couple of windows come up saying new hardware has been detected, like the gfx card and asks me to install thier drivers.
Heres my problem. I'm pretty sure I need to install the mobo's drivers onto the hard drive for the mobo and all its features to be working properly, right?
But in "my computer" there is no dvd drive icon, and nothing happens when I open and close the drive. I can hear it like, working, but nothing happens. In the bios though it is showing up, so I'm really confused as to why its not showing up in windows? So basically I can't install the mobo drivers because the dvd drive isn't registering/working in windows, I think anayway. *I'm using an ide/sata converter on the dvd drive btw
Also, the internet isn't working, and I assume this is because the mobo drivers havn't been installed either, or somthing along those lines?
Can anyone figure out where I'm going wrong? If I havn't explained myself properly about somthing just ask me to explain it again, lol.
Sorry if this is abit vague, but I'm really confused myself. Any help is much appreciated

Wacked the converter onto the hdd instead, and everything works great now. Nice one
