Please help - Realtek on board

Right i have the Gigabyte GA-965P-DQ6 motherboard with an E6600 CPU. I also have some USB surround Headphones that i use when it gets late.

In the normal run of things everything works fine.

However when i play EVE-Online regardless wether i use the USB headset or the onboard sound eventualy it causes my machine to reboot.

Does anyone know what causes this problem or more importantly to me how to fix it.

This only started happening after the eve Revelations update. I now play it with no sound which is annoying.

Do any other games crater when you're using the Realtek? From what you've said it doesn't sound like it's the onboard sound card at fault - more over something introduced in the Eve update.

The Realteks are toss anyway, I've had enough of mine and will be replacing it shortly because of lame x64 support and the fact it zeros the volume everytime I start playing a game.

yeah, its most likely a problem introduced in that new patch. Probably bad programming.
