I just recently got another GFX card (same as below) for SLi.

I have previously used Sli for a short period of time for a pair of GTX460's without much problem.

I have checked each card and they work fine independantly.

When I put in both cards, I encounter the following problems:

1. Only one card shows in device manager.

I did manage to get 2 cards showing in device manager by fresh installing the drivers and I also changed the power supply 6 pins around.

However I get this error message on one of the cards in device manager - Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)

I am wondering whether my PSU cant hack it? But I'm a PC noob so its pure speculation.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Yes it is...

After much fiddling around I managed to get both cards showing in device manager and got both cards showing in Nvidia control panel, however when I click enable SLi, the screen goes black, comes back in low resolution and crashes my gfx drivers completely.

I have to reinstall, which I did, and it repeats the same problem.

I will attempt to use an older driver now, I just dont get it..

Its either the PSU or mobo or drivers.
Have you tried looking for specific SLI drivers?
You need a new PSU regardless of whether its causing the problem.

Ok, so bought a new psu, installed it, reinstalled graphics, switch to SLi, same issue, nvidia panel crashes, low resolution....

there goes £80 quid.

Just to check you haven't just put the card in and downloaded the drivers right?

You've configured the BIOS correctly and got a working SLI bridge etc...

I have the bridge in place, I did look at the mobo bios and couldnt see anything about enabling SLi in there. I did have a pair of 460's in there many moons ago.

Im pretty sure the cards are correctly in situ as they show in nvidia control panel, until I click 'enable sli mode'.

:(

Quick question have you updated you BIOS to the latest version. And also have you contacted Nvidia about the problem?

I have googled the issue im having and some people say it appears to be a windows7 problem and reinstalling windows then enabling Sli works...

You think its worth a shot, I know my windows hasnt been formatted for a long time?
