Im in the process of ordering with Overclockers my new build. But im not sure which to go for the 1060 or 480, whichever i buy will be an overclocked version just not sure which one. Im wanting to play at 1080p on games such as battlefield 1 amongst other games but mainly BF1. Needs to be decided pretty quickly as im ready to press the BUY icon :D

So this is the build I know its not the best but it's a starting point with the aim to upgrade it.

My basket at Overclockers UK:

Total: £655.16
(includes shipping: £13.20)

AMD recently released a really nice driver package which improved performance across many games. So, I would go for the 480. However, which types of 480 and 1060 are available in this build?

Linking us to the build page could be useful, for the specific pc you are looking at

Any of the 1060 or 480 are available I'm not looking at the cheapest option just whichever is the best.

and what is your budget?

Also, I would definitely get rid of the 'gaming' keyboard you have at the moment. Gaming keyboards are mostly a gimick, however gaming mice have some benefit. Asus also aren't particularly known for their gaming mice, I would choose another brand like Logitech, Steelseries or Razer. You'll get a better mouse, for a much lower price.

OK the keyboard wouldn't be used for gaming anyways as I can't use them being a console gamer. Would either be a game pad or the PS Navigation Move. But will take into account the Mouse Thank you.

Also,OP I would not go for the Core i5 6500 bundle. I would get the following parts instead:
https://www.overclockers.co.uk/inte...ocket-lga1151-processor-retail-cp-586-in.html
https://www.overclockers.co.uk/asus...-kit-black-tpkd48gm2400hc16dc0-my-065-tg.html

Its around the same price as the bundle but you get a better motherboard with more features and more RAM slots too.

I would also get this PSU too:

https://www.overclockers.co.uk/seasonic-s12ii-520w-80-plus-bronze-power-supply-ca-038-ss.html

The XFX XTR series is a Seasonic design but is made by a cheaper Chinese OEM with cheaper components.

Edit!!

This PSU is even better:

https://www.overclockers.co.uk/antec-truepower-classic-550w-80-plus-gold-power-supply-ca-202-an.html

But then also have to add on the CPU cooler as well? So is getting more expensive. Also would have to add RAM as well so probably works out a lot more?

I know it may be hard to decide on one, but picking a figure for budget is really important as it puts some confines on what we can look at for you. From looking at the components, it roughly seems like your budget is ~ £850 with a GPU. Does that seem about right?

Right so I choose the GTR GPU so that is that done. My budget is £900- £950 Total order value

Thank you i upgraded the PSU and downgraded the SSD since its only having windows on it. I already have windows 10. Thanks for the help guys

What configuration did you go for in the end, assuming you've ordered?

I didnt change much tbh. So if you look at my build the things that changed were the GPU to the one you all stated the GTR one :D. I downgraded the SSD to a 120GB added the SeaSonic PSU that was given as an option also. I didnt change the case as i really like that one with the red led fan at the front that is why i added the 2 extra ones for the glow inside. I understand why you all said to change the motherboard but its just a starter build i have recently moved into a new home and had a baby so the price just fit my budget. Im sure i will be happy with it till the time comes when i can upgrade bits and pieces. Thank you for all the replies much appreciated

Plus with Windows 10 if you are using the free upgrade it ties you to the mothotherboard too.

No it isnt the free upgrade. Im sure i will be happy for now. Like i said in 6 months time when the Mrs goes back to work (on maternity at the minute) i will upgrade the lowest spec pieces its just a starter build at the minute so i just went with the bundle knowing in 6 months time i will be making the build better.
