Please help to overclock

hi guys, ive just recently built a new pc and now would like to overclock it but i dont really know how. ive been reading a few posts and 3.0ghz + is achievable with the Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 G0? more is better because im a heavy gamer.

my system spec is :-

i tried the settings for 34.02ghz and my computer wasnt stable, blue screen and rolling re-starts

after a few tries i got it stable running at 3.204Ghz, my pc didnt like increasing the ddr volts to 0.30 so i set it to 0.10 and the vcore to 1.40, ran prime95 for 5mins and no errors. thats a lot for the info

i have been reading a few posts and trying some new settings to increase the CPU Ghz, it seems most people use CPU-Z to show the core speed but howcome it doesn't recognise it, windows shows 3.2ghz but CPU-Z doesn't

i assume its a g0 because thats what it says i bought and payed for on my receipt.

Ah. with prime95 running CPU-Z showed the correct settings.

i think from the batch number the chip is an B3 (L726A655)

is there much different between the two, i thought it was just less power consumption?

product code is *****SL9UM, so they sent me wrong chip or i was unlucky and got older model? nothing i can do really is there.
