I need something where disk speed is fast above anything else. I've noticed that all the PCs I've built in the past are either memory-bound or disk-bound. I use my PC mainly for development using Visual Studio and have a database running as well, I tend to have 10-20 programs open at any one time, so need a good multitasking system. I don't play games.

- Fast disk for boot and program files (I'm thinking my first solid state disk)
- Large reasonably fast disk for data 1 TB should be enough
- 12-16 GB RAM
- Multi core processor - doesn't need to be the fastest, prefer Intel
- Graphics card - no gaming, but I will need to power 3-4 monitors with DVI
- Sound - not bothered, on board is fine
- Motherboard, expandable to 16 GB
- Power supply - something adequate and quiet
- Bluetooth card
- Bluetooth keyboard and mouse, not gaming
- Case - I've got an old one, but could probably do with a new one
