Please help with Koolance Quick Disconnects.

Honestly, I would spend a wee bit more and get separate quick disconnect sets and compression fittings myself. That way you won't be bound by the loop layout each time you change components. That also gives you more choice on using angled compressions and such from any manufacturer.

All you would then need is either a male or female, male threaded QDC that screws into the block/pump/rad and then a female or male (respectively), female threaded QDC to connect with the other piece and accept a compress fitting as well. Get a set for each block/pump/rad threaded port you want to isolate but know that these add in restriction a lot.

Word of advice- get the nickel plated quick disconnects (QD3 is best for PC loops). The black ones end up looking nasty with just a few months of usage.

This is what I want to do.:)

Which Quick Disconnects do I use though. Are all the ones marked QD3 compatible and will they work with each other.

I have a load of Monsoon compression fittings I can use with them.

This is a female half, female threaded QD3: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=WC-167-KA

I don't see the male half, male threaded version in there though.

Thanks for you help, I think I have now got my head around the Koolance range.:)

I am pretty sure they no longer make the disconnects which you can screw a 1/4 connector into.

They do make male and female disconnects that can be screwed into waterblocks rads etc. To use them though I needed to order male and female connectors with a barb fitting at one end for the size of tubing I want to use. It is going to be a stretch getting 11mm ID tubing over a 13mm barb but I have done it before.

I now have a lot of Koolance quick Disconnects on order.:)

Thanks for you help as I would not have figured it out without you.:)
