Hi 8 Pack,

Im trying to OC my 2600k as much as possible for 24/7 usage but im stuck at a steady 4.6Ghz and im wondering if you can help me achieve more.

I recently bought a MSI Z77 Mpower board and 16Gb Avexir Mpower RAM from OcUK to go with my 2600k.
After water cooling the whole system i decided to overclock my CPU. After reading from the Official MSI z77 Mpower thread on here i decided to follow these settings;

Internal PPL Overvoltage - ENABLED (1.8v)
CPU Vdroop Offset Control - +100%
EIST - DISABLED
EUP 2013 - DISABLED
CPU Phase control - AUTO
C1E Support - DISABLED
INTEL C State - DISABLED

I then proceeded to over clock the multiplier gradually and run IBT at High and then Prime95 Large, wacthing the temps and volts using HWmonitor and CPU-Z, if it crashed out, reset and up the volts a bit and retry.

Below is a list of my atempts, sorry if its overkill i just want to give you as much info as possible.

Attempt > (Bios & CPU-Z) > Multi > Voltage > Boot Win8 > Idle temp > IBT High > Prime Large
1.Bios 40 1.25 Yes
CPU-Z 40 1.24 27oC 49oC 45oC

2.Bios 43 1.25 Yes
CPU-Z 43 1.24 28oC 52oC CRASH

3.Bios 43 1.30 Yes
CPU-Z 43 1.28 29oC 55oC 50oC

4.Bios 45 1.30 Yes
CPU-Z 45 1.28 30oC CRASH

5.Bios 45 1.32 Yes
CPU-Z 45 1.30 30oC 57oC CRASH

6.Bios 45 1.35 Yes
CPU-Z 45 1.33 30oC 58oC 53oC

7.Bios 46 1.35 Yes
CPU-Z 46 1.33 29oC CRASH

8.Bios 46 1.36 Yes
CPU-Z 46 1.35 30oC 59oC 52oC

9.Bios 48 1.35 CRASH
CPU-Z N/A

10.Bios 48 1.38 Yes
CPU-Z 48 1.36 30oC CRASH

11.Bios 48 1.40 Yes
CPU-Z 48 1.39 31oC CRASH

So after reading through that lot, what do you reckon? i am currently using ATTEMPT 8. Do you think i can get more? or is 4.6Ghz what my chip can do?

Thanks for reading and for your time.

Try 4.7 at v1.39-v1.4. That would probably be your limit unless you don't mind going over v1.4, you can probably hit 4.8 at v1.43.

so im dead safe where i am now then? (46 x100 @1.36)

I didnt really want to be at 1.4v as after a lot of reading the majority of people say 1.38v is absolute safe MAX for this chip 24/7.
