Hi gents.

Well my rig's 4 years old now and not likely to handle any new games :( So it's time for a new one!! It's going to be a pure games machine so i need it to be as powerfull as i can afford.....

I've always been an AMD person but i belive the intel duo kick ass so maybe time to switch..... also i'm an nvidia man so unless ATI are doing black magic with there cards i'll prolly stick with nvid. Only other thing is, i like the sound of 4gig of ram but is it really worth it yet?

I'm looking to spend about £1200 just for the system and an opperating system. So hopefully you guys can give me some good advice :)

Thanks in advance

what OS do you want, and can the programes you have run in 64bit?

Also do you want to be OCing it?

And do you want to future proof it againt the peryin (sp?) and DDR3?

and do you want a new case?

Looking at Vista OS, i play Eve online mostly and it's compatable. Can always use the gf's pc for any old games

Won't be OCing.

Sadly i need a new case, i'm giving my old rig to my gf and don't want to re build it to get the case back...

Futureproofing hmm, that can never be a bad thing so if my wallet can hold out then YES please ;)

Thanks

Will you need a Monitor, speakers, keyboard and mouse, or just the base unti and a O/S?

Only thing i would say is, if you only have a 19inch monitor and your not planning upgrading it, then the GTX is a waste to be honest. Though if your planning on getting a 22inch + monitor in the furture then the GTX will be a fantastic card to have.

Thats great thanks Stickroad, i really appreciate your help! I'll prolly upgrade my moniter when i have the money too, it's an expensive ordeal just for the rig ;)

Btw is that with or without VAT?
