please help with Nikon D80

Hi

I got my Image Quality set to Fine and Image size set to Large.

I got a 4GB SD card and my camera shows I can take 530 photos.

But after a while the number does not go down and I took something like 1000 photos but the more photos I took the Image Quality went down.

Can I turn something off so it only takes the 530 photos and no more?

Not really sure what you are talking about. The number is just an estimate and wont be accurate, all depending on what you photograph and how the compression is working. The image quality wont change as you take more photos.

Why do you want to limit yourself to only 530 photos, just keep firing away until the card is full and swap out out cards.

I swear I was at a festival last year and the the last £200 photos were really grainy

might of put the ISO up or something haha

That is more likely. The Image quality wont change if you start running out of space. The camera will carry on as normal and then just run out of space and refuse to take any more photos.
