is there any reason why my card would be rejected while trying to order my 1800xt ?

Maybe you're trying to ship it to a different delivery address than your billing address?
Its done that to me before. Try getting it shipped to your billing address (or change your address with the card vendor to the delivery address)
Also, sometimes the bank think there is fraudulent activity and deny any orders to your card - you might want to check with them,
