Everytime I try to install windows soon as it launches the setup I get a BSOD mentioning pci.sys

I have swapped graphics cards as I thought it could have being that but to no avail.

Tried using a different hard drive both an IDE and a SATA drive.

Any ideas?

Abit IP-95
Sapphire Radeon x1950pro 512mb
Intel Core 2 Duo 2.13ghz
1gb DDR2 memory.
1x IDE WD hd 120gb
1x SATA WD hs 160gb.

is this a brand new set up ?

try instaling with minimum bits in ie 1 stick ram 1hdd the one you want windows on.

if any of them hard drives are brand new they may be sata2 and looks like that mobo has sata1 soo you may need to move a jumper setting on t eh back of the hard drive to sata1 position.

yey

got it going.

My windows xp disc is pre sp2.

PCI-E only supported with sp2 +.

I just created a streamlined disk n away it went.

Thanks anyway!
