I look to have a few seconds where it is not happening.

But my mac keeps pretending the keys are stuck, mainly the full stop and forward slash.

Is this some sort of virus or just a mechanical faults?

Help, I can use my computer except for a couple of minutes a time.

Do you have another keyboard to try? Does the problem exist after reboots? Is there any signal that the problem will occur?

MacBook or MacBook Pro or normal mac?

I used to have fun with my S or D (can't remember which) but I think something was stuck in there. It's only appeared once since and it's fine normally. For the record - a MackBook Pro (v3,1).
