Please help!! Problems with transferring files
Ok here is my problem:
My friend has bought my PC off me and as i favour i said id transfer his hard drive onto the new pc so he'd be ready to go. He is running XP SP2.
Got his pc at my house, turned it on, ran fine, so i thought, just to be safe ill install norton ghost on his hard drive and replicate it onto one of the partitions on my hard drive (D). So i used Norton Ghost and it transfered great onto my partition. All done i thought. Now i thought if i boot into his hard drive on the new computer it will work fine..Booted and it got to the stage just after the loading screen, saw a blue flash on the screen then the computer restarted. Obviously this is something to do with the drivers being different and different hardware? So i thought, ill just put it all back in his computer, boot up his computer and remove all the drivers. Put the hard drive back in his computer, booted it up, and now it crashes at the xp screen, the one if you don't have a login and just the xp logo before the desktop appears. Tried to boot it 4 or 5 times now and it just crashes in the same place everytime.
Is there any obvious reason why this is happening? Since i have a backup of his drive on one of my partitions is there any way of booting from it? It doesnt give me a dual boot screen when i boot up my computer or anything like that.
Any advice will be greatly appreciated, as im getting quite anxious about this.
Thanks
Tim
