HI guys

A mate had £600 to spend on a new pc.

He doesent want to do any extreme overclocking, at least nothing he needs a non standard heatsink on.

He does a lot of video encoding, uses dreamweaver, photoshop, some audio software and plays the odd game. Because of this I think a quad core would be best, the Q6600? Had a lot of stuff so i believe a TB HD is required.

He will need

PSU
ram
HDD
DVD RW
Case
Gfx card
Processor
mother board

Thanks a lot

Matt

If you could stretch another £20 Id recomend upgrade gfx to 4850

Hi,

Is that PSU powerful enough? They seem so expensive for brands these days.

Also, what are samsung HD's like would it be better to pay a couple of quid more for a different brand?

He can stretcht he £20 so gone for the 4850, is the 512 version enough? or should he try and go for the 1gb model

Thanks

Yes the 450 should be fine for this set up, its better to get a 450W decent make than a 600W crap make.
That Samsung HDD is one of the best going at the moment
It would depend on what resolution he games at, but so long as monitor isnt bigger than 24" the 512mb will be fine
