Please Help!!

Hi all,

Was playing LOTRO on my PC and it suddenly powered off.

I've had a squizz at the MB and power is going to it (there is a blue LED alight). When I press the power button, for a fraction of a second a green LED comes on but then it goes off and an amber LED comes on (and stays alight). The case fans look as though they are about to start for a milisecond but then don't.

I've tried powering up with out various components but still no joy.

The MB is an EVGA 680i with a 7800gtx and 600w PSU. Any ideas? I'm guessing the amber light may mean something but I don't have the manual to hand.

Check for loose connections? Particularly on the fans?

Its possible it is still the PSU tbh, it might of failed, there might be enough power for LED's but not to boot, do you have another you can try? You'll have to look up in mobo manual (download one if you dont have original) what the amber light means as it depends on where on the mobo it is, this should give a good indication - however some have an amber light next to the sata ports just to show the HDD being accessed

Would then check the PSU. Can you try it in another system or borrow another PSU to try with your set up?

Thanks for the replies guys. I'll strip it down later and see what I can find.

The LED's are up near the memory but not sure if that means anything or not.
